Here are the 20+ Chapters of “The Book” a thorough revision and extension of my Doctoral Thesis “Random Theory of Turbulence“.
The title “Random Theory of Turbulence” may seem to entail a bit of humor or irony (your choice). It comes from Norbert Wiener’s little book “Nonlinear Problems in Random Theory” MIT Press, Cambridge, MA, 1958. He also used the phrase “Calculus of Random Functionals” and he called the Wiener Process “The Random Function of Time and Phase“. Yaglom suggested the term “Wiener Machinery” which we adopt here.
Actually, Wiener suggested these methods in a little known paper, “The Use of Statistical Theory in the Study of Turbulence” Proc. 5th Int. Congr. Appl. Mech. pg. 356
